Pricing questions, answered

What exactly is a trace?
One top-level operation in your application, no matter how many model calls it contains. A RAG pipeline that retrieves, reranks and generates counts as one trace, not three.
What happens if I go over my monthly limit?
On the free tier, extra traces are dropped and you get a warning email at 80% of the limit. On paid plans, overage is billed at $0.10 per thousand traces, and you can set a hard cap if you would rather drop than pay.
Do you charge per seat?
No. Every plan includes unlimited seats. Charging per seat discourages exactly the people you want looking at AI quality, which is the wrong incentive.
Is there a discount for annual billing?
Yes, two months free on annual plans. Startups under 20 people with less than $5M raised get 12 months of Team free through the startup program.
Can I self-host?
Self-hosting is available on Enterprise. It runs the same product in your VPC via Helm or Terraform, backed by your own Postgres and object storage.
